The Bedford School U18 Indoor Hockey team secured their East Regional Champion title for the second year running and their place in the National Finals which take place on 12 and 13 January at Whitgift School.

The tournament took place on Sunday 9 December at The Perse School. Captained by Tom Blytheman, the boys won five out of their six matches, with Charlie Axford the top goal scorer.

This is a well-deserved win for the boys who have been training at least three times a week in their own time, and have upped their game by playing friendlies against men’s league teams at Bedford Hockey Club and Cambridge City.

Mr Sam Mee, Director of Hockey said, “The boys have been truly impressive this season. Their commitment to want to continually improve has paid in dividends and they are worthy winners of the East Regional Championship. They are in a strong position to compete at national level and I have every faith in their ability and attitude to do well.”
