On Saturday 4th November it was lovely to have the opportunity to welcome back Jill Webb (nee Rawlinson) to the School with her two sons Simon and Michael. Jill’s late father, Michael Rawlinson, was Head of Maths from 1970 to 1985, and along with his wife Liz, were House Parents in Kirkman’s Boarding House. Michael’s other great love was Cricket. Jill had not been back for many years, but still had many happy memories and in particular, could remember the night the main School building burnt down in March 1979. Some OBs may also remember Jill’s brother Andrew (76-86). The family enjoyed a tour and catching up with a number of former staff who had worked with Michael and Liz. John Fleming had been their House Tutor in Kirkman’s, while Bob Eadie and Jerome Watson were in the Maths Department when Michael had headed it up.  Both said how they had benefitted from his guidance and enjoyed working for him.

It is always a pleasure to welcome back OBs, former staff and their families. Please do contact the OB Club Office if you are thinking of making such a trip.
