Lower Sixth Former Jonny Hosking, has been invited to join the esteemed National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) company, following a round of national auditions held over the last few months. Jonny was up against hundreds of young people chasing the highly sought after places.

The NYMT, based in London, offers exceptional opportunities in professional, musical theatre training for talented young people from the age of 10 to 23 years.

Jonny is also a member of the National Youth Theatre (NYT) and last year, starred in their performance of ‘Zigger Zagger’, a play about football hooliganism. To be a member of both the NYMT and the NYT is exceptional and a testament to Jonny’s natural flair on the stage. You may have seen Jonny perform in numerous Bedford School productions; most recently we delighted in watching his impassioned portrayal of Romeo in our unique rendition of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

Later this year, we will see Jonny play ‘Buster Bicep’ in the NYMT’s latest musical, ‘Super Hero’, which he is extremely excited to start rehearsing.

Jonny is currently studying Drama, English and Politics at A-Level, following which he hopes to continue his love of acting at drama school. He has also turned his hand to directing and is currently co-directing the Prep School’s upcoming production of ‘Emil and the Detectives’.

Head of Academic Drama, Antoinette Keylock said, “I am immensely proud of Jonathan. It is very rare for a student to get into both the National Youth Theatre and the National Youth Music Theatre. Jonathan is extremely talented and his role in ‘Super Hero’ sounds great – I cannot wait to see him perform.”
