Camaraderie was in abundance as the sun shone down on the inaugural BSA Past Parents cycle event on Sunday 8th December. Twenty intrepid cyclists; an eclectic mix of past parents, OBs, current parents and friends of the School, set off from Burnaby Road and headed towards the Ickwell Study Centre where they were greeted with a selection of delicious home-made cakes and mince pies. The return journey was slightly more challenging with a brisk cross headwind testing everyone’s bike handling skills.
Upon their return to the School, the keen cyclists enjoyed catching up over a well-deserved sausage bap and refreshments.
Richard Banks, Chairman of the Past Parents Association, commented that “despite the lure of Christmas shopping, we had a great turn out, with everyone enjoying each other’s company. Buoyed on by this success, we’ll be looking to organise further social rides for all cycling abilities in 2020”.
