We’re always excited to see the diversity of sport across the school, and none more so than the fast-paced and physical game of ice hockey.

We’re lucky enough to have an ice hockey champion in our midst by the name of Tom Stephens in the Fourth Form. Tom’s prowess on the ice, has seen him play for South West England during last season, and his talent has recently been spotted by a scout from the England Ice Hockey Squad.

During half term, Tom spent some time training at an England training camp where he was tested in many different aspects; the three main areas being skill, attitude and fitness. Following strong performances in all of these areas, Tom has now received an invitation to train with the England U15 squad. Tom told us, “I’m hoping to be selected for the England team and to travel to Europe to play.”

This is a magnificent achievement for Tom and we’re routing for him all the way.
