Conscia Jazz presents the ‘Tom Syson Sextet’ on the 9th of June. They will be releasing their highly anticipated debut album ‘Green’ at this event, so it is set to be an exciting evening! It will also be the second gig on their 10-date UK tour, which sees them play at, amongst other events, the Glasgow Jazz Festival and the Manchester Jazz Festival.

After completing a UK tour in February 2016, the Tom Syson Sextet recorded their debut album ‘Green’ at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in August. The album was produced by Percy Pursglove and featured the JazzFm Vocalist of the Year 2016 Lauren Kinsella on a track. It is entirely made up from original material written by Tom, and creates a variety of exciting textures to keep audiences on their toes, with a focus on rich melodies.

The sextet is as follows:

Tom Syson – Trumpet
Vittorio Mura – Tenor Saxophone
Ben Lee – Guitar
David Ferris – Piano
Pete Hutchison – Double Bass
Jonathan Silk – Drums

“Tom Syson is a wonderfully talented trumpeter, and composer who is well along his way to making an impact on the UK jazz scene. His full bodied and broad tone is equally complimented by his fluid and linear melodic sense with a proclivity to excite when necessary” FRANK GRIFFITH
