We always knew that our boys were stars but they proved that they were ‘Times Table Rock Stars’ on Monday 12 March.
Six Y6 boys spent the afternoon competing with our sister school Bedford Girls’ School in a series of maths challenges using the Times Table Rock Stars programme. During the fun afternoon, the boys competed in heats against the girls in mini-games on all the tables from 2-12, before knock-out quarter-finals and semi-finals.
The girls won the competition this time but we were very impressed with the boys’ performance, especially bearing in mind that they had only had a week to practise with the programme.
The competition has also sparked interest across the school, and we plan to hold another competition, this time for Y3 and Y4 against Bedford Girls’ School and Bedford Modern. Watch out for a full TT Rock Star stadium competition – coming soon!
