In the early days of The Ousel, a Christmas Edition was published every year. This continued, with the exception of 1917 and 1918, until 1920, when they became more sporadic and finally stopped in 1930. The 1950 December issue has notable images of The CCF Muster and Mr Bull with a young pupil. By 2000, we are looking at a much more familiar format, and there are still three publications each year. There is also an acknowledgment of the new millennium, as the then Head Master looks back on the days of James Surtees Phillpotts in 1900.
