A small group of Y7 boys enjoyed a fascinating day at Mill Green on Friday 14 June, exploring its wonderful museum artefacts and seeing history in action at its working mill.

The boys, who have all selected to study Latin next year in the Upper School, gained a great insight into Roman Britain. They found out first-hand how flour was produced in the past at the working watermill, sampled traditional Roman foods, tried out the fashion of the day and examined many of the artefacts on show at the museum to understand their uses and identify their time periods.

The trip proved a perfect first foray into studying Latin and Classical Civilisation.
