On 23rd April the DVP for Somerset and Gloucestershire, Richard Shorrock (45-53) and his wife Brenda, hosted a lovely gathering at Tortworth Court, in south Gloucestershire. The Court, which is now a hotel, is a Victorian mansion built in a Tudor style between 1848 and 1853. The architect was Samuel Sanders Teulon. We were blessed with wonderful weather, and after a very good lunch OBs and their partners enjoyed exploring the grounds and the arboretum.

This was a great way to celebrate St George’s Day. Sandy Gray, OB Club President, took the opportunity to thank Richard and Brenda for all their efforts in recent years. Richard will step down as DVP in the autumn, so please do let us know if you may be interested in getting more involved and taking this important regional role over. Many thanks to Richard and all the DVPs across the UK and overseas. We rely on them enormously to support and cultivate the OB Club network.

You will be interested to hear that this DVP gathering set a new challenge by singing the School Song and recording it! We hope that other gatherings may follow this lead. Many thanks to Ian Fox (56-64) for taking the lead.
