In an exciting few days of sport, our U13 hockey boys became the new regional champions of the IAPS Hockey Sevens, and Alex Lamb teamed up with the U14 badminton team to win the county qualifiers in the National Schools Badminton Competition.

The U13 hockey team started their day with a 1-0 win against Feltonfleet School, before going one better to win 2-0 against Windlesham House School. Next up was Highfield School, who were the only school to defeat the boys in the competition, with a score of 2-1. The boys then returned to winning form with a 2-0 victory over St Andrew’s School, Woking. In their last pool match, the boys drew 0-0 with Kingshott School. However, their result of four wins, one loss and one draw put them into second place and through to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, they defeated Westbourne House 1-0 to secure their spot in the finals against Dulwich Prep and put them one win away from a national final place.

In the exciting final, it was all square at 1-1 at the end of regular extra time, so the boys had to go to penalty shuffles, but they held their nerve and won 2-1 to take the title. We look forward to cheering them on in the national finals.

In another impressive result, Alex Lamb (Y7) stepped up two age groups to compete with the U14 squad and proved an integral member of the team in winning the county qualifiers in the National Schools Badminton Competition.
