Bedford town centre had a Christmassy buzz in the air earlier today as shoppers, workers, passers-by and those that came especially, enjoyed the many delicious soups on offer at the Bedford SoupFest. And Bedford School were privileged to play a part in this momentous community event.

For a minimum donation of £3, you could buy the most tantalising, flavoursome soup, made and donated by local chefs and restaurants, including a winter vegetable and lentil soup from our own school kitchen. All soup was served with crusty bread and butter and eaten as food should be; together, talking and laughing with friends against a backdrop of live music performed by local musicians. And the best bit about it all, is that all proceeds from the event are being donated directly to the homeless people of Bedford; the number of which has doubled in the last five years.

Our Y5 Prep School Choir also joined the fun and kicked off the festive joy with a number of Christmas carols, complete with actions and audience participation! Boys from our Upper School were there to hand out leaflets and help guide people to the soup.
