On Tuesday 11 November, four talented Lower Sixth mathematicians – Josh, Alvin, Eesa and Oscar, represented Bedford School at the UK Senior Team Maths Challenge, held at The Leys, Cambridge.
The event brought together teams from 20 schools, creating an afternoon of intense problem-solving and collaboration. Our boys rose to the challenge, ultimately securing ninth place—a tremendous achievement given the exceptional standard of mathematical ability in the room.
The competition tested far more than just mathematical knowledge. Contestants tackled a variety of engaging activities that demanded quick thinking, clear communication and effective teamwork. From complex puzzles to strategic problem-solving, the experience highlighted the beauty of mathematics in a dynamic, competitive setting.
Beyond the scores, the challenge deepened the team’s enthusiasm for mathematics and inspired them to take on even greater problem-solving opportunities in the future.
Congratulations to Josh, Alvin, Eesa and Oscar for their outstanding effort and for representing Bedford School with such skill and determination!
