Congratulations to both Rahul Sheemar (Fifth Form) and Emilio Gay (Lower Sixth) who have both recently received some good news from their county cricket clubs.

Rahul (Essex CCC) is currently on the club’s academy programme and after a successful season with bat and ball, he was named as the Essex Academy Player of the Season. This award is on top of him already having received the Essex U15 player of the season and also overall player of the season, i.e. he was selected player of the season from all of the Essex age group teams.

Following an outstanding school season, which included being awarded his full cricket colours, Emilio Gay continued his good form at county level for Northamptonshire CCC, including a big hundred against Staffordshire U17’s. As a result of his excellent performances throughout the season, Emilio has been awarded a place in the Northamptonshire Academy. This is an elite programme that is run by all first-class counties and he will now take part in a programme which will help him to further develop the technical, tactical, mental and strength and conditioning aspects of his game to hopefully prepare him for a career as a professional cricketer.

Well done to both boys!
