The Stowe fixture was a highly competitive one across the board. The results of many of the games were based on fine margins, as the score lines would suggest.  Four games hung in the balance but eventually went in favour of the opposition. However, there was also some cheer as the 2nd team produced a brilliant performance to chalk up their second win of the season. They have demonstrated remarkable drive and determination to continue to improve under the pressure of results going against them and their comfortable victory was testament to the hard work they have been putting in in training. Tom Blythman delivered an outstanding performance and is now looking like a very accomplished fly half. The 1st XV played some brilliant rugby at times and scored some fantastic team tries on the way to their victory.  Reni Omotomilola put his hand up for try of the season with a breath-taking run down the left hand wing to beat four players on route to his score under the posts. There was also a strong candidate for team try of the season as Bedford played with great width and speed for multiple phases. A try was inevitable and it was eventually finished in the left hand corner by the impressive Marcus Lake.

The U16 A team continue to play exciting rugby, unfortunately a few uncharacteristic errors gave the opposition the upper hand and Bedford struggled to regain momentum, eventually losing the game by just 4 points. The U16 C agonisingly lost their first fixture of the season but this was probably their best learning experience of the season thus far and the boys will need to quickly reflect and regroup for the Radley College game on Thursday. The U16 B team are now vying for the best stats of an U16 team as they produced yet another top team performance to comfortably win their game. They are a group of players high in confidence and ambition and are going from strength to strength.

Similarly, U15 B and C team victories bolstered their impressive playing statistics. As the season progresses it is evident that Bedford School has a real strength in depth, which speaks volumes of the character of the boys. On Saturday, it was clear that all players in all teams were genuinely working hard for one another; their dedication to training, matches and each other are helping them produce enjoyable and highly competitive rugby.
