Bedford School Rugby Club hosted Uppingham and St.Albans schools on Saturday 12 September 2015. In an action packed day of rugby, which proved to be a perfect day for running rugby, the 1st XV demonstrated some sublime attacking shape and slick handling to run in 12 tries in their 82-12 victory at Uppingham.
TRIES: Kane, Cooper (2), Clarke (2), Carter, Adewale (2), Boyd (2), Dingwall,
CONS: Burgess (10), DIngwall
The 2nd and 3rd XVs also came away with victories and the 3rd XV are shaping up to be quite a force this year. Chris Bracewell set the tone with a length of the field try and Georgy Kharzilya bagged two later on in the second half to seal the victory. Ewan Weed and Ed Jonson marshalled the 2nd team well to come out with a win, one that perhaps should have been more comfortable had they been more clinical at the breakdown.
Uppingham showed their strength in depth by winning the final two senior games, but not without a spirited effort from the Bedford boys.
The U16s won two tight games in the A and B teams. It proved to be a tough contest for both teams and the Bs had to put everything into the last five minutes of the game against a committed Uppingham defence to turn around a two point deficit and win 17-12. The C team enjoyed a more convincing win but again Uppinghams strength in depth shone through as they won a close U16D game, which was expertly refereed by debutant Mr Waite.
The U15As were involved in probably the most exciting game of the weekend. They mounted wave after wave of attack but found themselves chasing the game having made a number of handling and defensive errors. The most pleasing element of the Bedford performance was their never say die attitude and they fought back to within a point of the opposition. Two more minutes of play beyond the final whistle and the game would, most probably, have been theirs; an agonising loss. However, they are a team with huge potential who will turn heads once it all comes together. The U15 Bs and Cs won convincingly, both playing some excellent attacking rugby that demonstrated cohesion from the whole team. The U15Ds showed real commitment but unfortunately lost out to an extremely well organised St Albans outfit in the last play of the game. Their contact skills were excellent but failure to move the ball into space meant they couldnt exploit the chances they created.
The Fourth Form played in their house matches and there was some truly excellent and committed rugby on display. The matches were played in true Bedford school spirit. The results were as follows:

|6th – Bromham||6th – Paulo Pontine|
|5th – St. Peter’s||5th – Bormham|
