In our biggest afternoon of rugby so far this year, 21 teams ran out on Wednesday to represent Bedford Prep School both home and away.
With fixtures against Dragon School, Warwick Prep and Caldicott School, and a Stamford School Festival and an Oxford Festival, our U10, U11 and U13 teams were all in action. And what a wonderful afternoon of rugby it was!
The U11A and B teams enjoyed competing at the Stamford School Festival. The two teams played well, finding new ways to play the game and react to the more challenging physical demands of U11 rugby.
The U10A team did not lose a match, with wins against Donhead School, Caldicott School and Dragon School and a draw against St Paul’s School at the Oratory School’s Oxford Festival.
Our Y4 and Y3 boys, who enjoyed fixtures this week and last, also relished the opportunity to represent the school. While they may be at the start of their rugby journey–learning to win and lose, learning how to work as part of a team and the importance of sportsmanship–we are pleased to say that there is much to look forward to, not least the many benefits that our new partnership with Northampton Saints Rugby Club will bring. We are thrilled to announce that Bedford School is now an Elite Community Partner School with the club, and this exciting new sports collaboration is set to significantly enhance our school rugby programme, bringing a wealth of expertise and opportunities to our boys, fostering their development both on and off the field.
