If you were in Bedford Park on Sunday then you could not have missed the fabulous ‘Have a Go’ event, organised by The Harpur Trust. The family event aimed to give the people of Bedford a fun-filled, free day out by laying on a wide variety of activities for people to quite literally ‘have a go’ at.  Activities included parkour, pottery, archery, climbing, potholing and zorbing – to name only a few!

We were proud to be one of the contributors at the event, along with The Harpur Trust’s two other senior schools, Bedford Girls’ School and Bedford Modern. Welcomed by the warm May sunshine, thousands of people flocked to the event, with many of them keen to demonstrate their rowing prowess in our rowing competition. Battling for the fastest time over 250 metres, boys, girls, parents and grandparents jumped onto our rowing machines to compete for a place on our leader board.

It was wonderful to be part of the event and engage with the local community. The people of Bedford have so much pride in their town, and the opportunity to get together to celebrate everything the town has to offer was a wonderful thing.
