senior boys and the Bedford Girls’ School bands gave some outstanding
performances. Highlights included rock bands from Year 8 in the Prep School,
who showed great promise for the future with their rendition of ‘Pretender’ by
the Foo Fighters. Komal Srivastava with her band from Bedford Girls’ School
impressed again performing an original song as well as some catchy covers that
got the crowd moving. The final band to take the stage were ‘The Basilisk’ who
have become well known for their loud and energetic performances at this event
over the years. This was their final Rock Night, and they performed better than
ever with an extended five song set which demonstrated the great strength and
depth of rock musicianship at this school. The final DJ set from OX2 (Oliver
Walker and Oliver Graham) turned the Quarry Theatre into a nightclub, and they
gave the audience some real exercise, and they dazzled with a fine display of
mixing with detail in lighting and live visuals which concluded the event in
great style.
