We are pleased to announce that next academic year, on the 30th of September 2016, the School will have the privilege of hosting a TEDx event. TED is an organisation that runs series of talks around the globe, inviting eminent speakers and leaders to share their thoughts with the world and further everyone’s knowledge. The x in TEDx stands for independently organised, since this is a boy-led project.

The boys organising the event are currently looking for people to give talks related to the theme of ‘Rethinking the Norm’. This can be interpreted in any number of ways, using any field of expertise.

There are only a few guidelines from TED that TEDx speakers must follow. In particular, the talks must be exclusively for the purpose of furthering knowledge, therefore it must be completely voluntary. Also, that there must be no commercial, religious or political agenda and the talk itself must be under 18 minutes. Apart from that, you would have complete freedom to discuss anything to do with this theme!

The boys are looking for three speakers for the event, which would take place in the Quarry Theatre, from 7pm to 10pm.

If you would like to take part or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact any of the boys from the TEDx Bedford School PR team;
