We believe that education should prepare boys for life. Our bespoke Future Skills Curriculum is designed to do exactly that—equipping boys with the subject knowledge they need, while also developing the essential skills, attributes and values that will help them thrive both now and in the future.

A Framework for Growth

Our Future Skills Curriculum is underpinned by a clear framework that ensures consistency across all areas of school life—in and out of the classroom, in academic subjects and co-curricular activities alike.

Boys are given regular opportunities to practise and reflect on key competencies, helping them to grow in confidence, independence and self-awareness.

Learning How to Learn

We want our boys to do more than just acquire knowledge—we want them to understand how they learn best.

Through a strong focus on metacognition, boys are encouraged to reflect on the strategies and processes that help them succeed. This approach is backed by extensive educational research, which shows that teaching children to think about their own learning is one of the most effective ways to support progress.

Rooted in Values

Our Future Skills Curriculum is deeply connected to the school’s five core values: Endeavour, Responsibility, Integrity, Curiosity and Kindness.

Each value is brought to life through six practical examples that show boys how these principles can be demonstrated in everyday school life. These values are not just taught—they are lived, forming the foundation of our school culture from the youngest years through to the Upper School.

Superheroes with Purpose

To make these values even more meaningful, our cast of Future Skills Superheroes—each one embodying a different school value, helps bring the curriculum to life in a way that is fun, relatable and inspiring for our boys. They are role models our pupils admire and aspire to emulate.

“The aim of education is the knowledge, not of facts, but of values.”

William Inge

We are committed to helping boys become not only knowledgeable, but also curious and capable of doing new things—ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow with confidence backed by strong moral values.
