Our GCSE and A-level Drama students enjoyed a fantastic
workshop with Yorkshire based theatre company ‘Paperbirds’ on 26th January 2017.
Three actors: Georgie Coles, Catriona Giles and Josie
Dale-Jones, worked with the students to give them a real insight into some of the
ensemble techniques they use and a fascinating look at the devising process
used by the physical theatre company.
The following week, a select group of gifted and talented
Drama students enjoyed a second comedy/clowning workshop with ‘The Pretend Men’
Theatre company ahead of their production ‘Police Cops’.
Antoinette Keylock, Head of Academic Drama,
commented, “I am delighted to see so many students working closely with Theatre
professionals. The skills learnt in workshops will really help the boys
when they are developing devised pieces of theatre for exams”.
