The sun was shining on our Y3 and Y4 boys as they swapped their usual classrooms for the great outdoors. Joining over a three and a half million children from all around the world, the boys tucked their chairs under their desks and headed outside to celebrate the fun of outdoor learning and play.

Their action-packed day was designed to provide them with a greater connection to nature as well as teach them life skills such as resilience, problem solving, teamwork and creativity, but most of all it was designed to be fun.

Full to the brim with activities, the boys enjoyed pond dipping (always hugely popular), sticklets, a colour hunt, fun in the engineering zone, parachute games and quiet reading, to name just a few. Their day was topped off in style with a fun outdoor theatre performance of A Midsummers Night’s Dream in the beautiful Quarry Theatre garden.

One and all certainly had fun in the sun during this celebration of nature and the great outdoors! We cannot wait to do it all again next year!
