As part of the OB Club’s 125th Anniversary celebrations, we were pleased to welcome back almost 90 Old Bedfordians, partners and guests to the school on Saturday 26th November 2016 for a special OB Reunion Day. OBs were invited to join us for tours of the school in the morning, a three-course lunch in the school’s Café Bar, a 1st XV rugby match against Northampton School for Boys and a post-match tea. With the OB 125th Anniversary Dinner taking place later that day, many guests enjoyed the activities on offer during the day, before attending the Dinner in the evening.

The day began with a coffee in the Recital Hall, before OBs were taken on a tour of the School by current students. This took in the new Quarry Theatre at St Luke’s and the recently refurbished Science Laboratories, the Library, Music School, Observatory and Planetarium, Chapel and other areas.

We then all gathered together for an informal three-course lunch in the Café Bar, giving OBs the chance to catch up with old friends and swap stories from their schooldays. Many then took advantage of the splendid autumnal weather and made their way over to the pitches in front of the school to support the 1st XV as they took on Northampton School for Boys. It was a well-played match from both sides but Bedford School proved themselves the stronger team, beating their opponents by an impressive 29-17. Afterwards, OBs celebrated the school’s victory and warmed up with a post-match tea in the Café Bar, alongside parents and friends of the school.

All in all, a brilliant time was had by all – thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the day with us!
