Little Shop of Horrors is a delectable sci-fi horror musical with an electrifying 1960s pop/rock score. Seymour Krelborn is a meek and dejected assistant at a flower shop who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names “Audrey II” after his crush at the shop. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice, a potty mouth, and an unquenchable thirst for HUMAN BLOOD. As Audrey II grows bigger and meaner, the carnivorous plant promises limitless fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he continues providing a fresh supply of blood. Just when it’s too late, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s extra-terrestrial origins and his true drive for world-domination. We are looking for performers, musicians, puppeteers, stage managers, lighting, sound and set designers and anyone who would like to get involved both on stage and behind the scenes. Our aim is that every aspect of the production involves Bedford School boys in some capacity. Auditions will be held on Thursday 13 June and Monday 17 June from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in The Quarry Theatre. You will need to apply by completing an online audition form

Avenue Q is an award-winning musical where actors voice and operate a range of puppets. It draws inspiration from Sesame Street and The Muppets but deals with more adult themes such as the transition to adulthood, racism and accepting yourself. Bedford Girls’ School Director of Music, Mr Keating-Roberts and Director of Drama and Dance Mrs Howe would like to invite any interested boys from the Fourth Form to the Lower Sixth Form to audition for their autumn term production, which will take place from 4 to 7 December 2019. To audition, boys will need to prepare an excerpt from a solo song or a duet that is character driven. They can do this unaccompanied, with a backing track (on CD/iPad/USB etc.) or they may bring sheet music and be accompanied on the piano. Excerpts should not exceed 1 minute 30 seconds. Should you have any questions, please contact Mrs Howe via email.
