Ready for What’s Next: Year 8’s Future Skills Programme

With exams behind them, our Year 8 boys are gearing up for their Future Skills programme — a brilliant finish to Prep School that is all about confidence, independence and enjoying their final weeks together.

Packed with hands-on experiences, the programme gives boys the chance to try new things, work as a team and build the skills they will take into Upper School and beyond.

First up, 8N set the tone with the ever-popular ‘Come Dine with Me’. Their ‘around the world’ theme brought energy and creativity to the evening, with fantastic food, music from across the globe, live performances and plenty of fun shared with family and staff.

On Monday, boys are set to head to Box End Waterpark to kick off their entrepreneurial project. Working in teams to design and pitch ideas for new attractions or experiences, it is real-world thinking, problem-solving and creativity in action — with plenty of time to enjoy the park too.

There is plenty more to look forward to in the weeks ahead, including:

  • Career sessions to spark new ambitions
  • Life skills and First Aid training to build confidence
  • Upper School tasters to ease the step up
  • A PGL residential and Charity Fun Day
  • Cultural activities, reflection time and a fun-filled Silly Sports Day

“This is such an exciting stage for the boys. It is about enjoying their last weeks together, trying new things and leaving Prep ready and excited for what is ahead.”
