Ready for the Year Ahead

Ready for the Year Ahead

While boys were enjoying a well-earned summer break, several projects to refresh and improve some of the spaces where boys learn, read, play and spend time together each day were taking place across the Prep School in preparation for the new school year.

One of the main projects this summer was the refurbishment of the upper floor of the Inky Building. Classrooms have been refreshed with new lighting, flooring and decoration throughout, helping to create bright, welcoming spaces ready for another year of learning and discovery. A new computer room has also been added, giving boys a dedicated space to develop their digital skills as technology continues to play an increasingly important role in education and everyday life.

Work was completed on a new Year 3 classroom in Nash’s. At the same time, the Year 3 and 4 Library was relocated to the ground floor of the building, creating an inviting space that places books and reading at the heart of daily Prep School life. With double doors to the Year 3 and 4 playground, plans are also in place to create a space outside where boys can enjoy reading outside on warm sunny days. Whether discovering a new favourite author, completing research for a project or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a good book, we are sure it will become a much-loved place and part of the school day.

We are also pleased that work will soon begin on a new playground for our Year 3 and 4 boys. Play remains an important part of childhood and school life, helping boys build friendships, develop confidence and enjoy being active together. We look forward to seeing the new space take shape over the coming months.

While some of these changes are immediately visible and others will work more quietly in the background, all have been made with one purpose in mind: supporting the everyday experience of the boys.

As another busy year gets underway, it is wonderful to see these spaces filled once again with conversation, curiosity, friendship and learning.
