Prep House Art Competition: Contrasts

Prep House Art Competition: Contrasts

We are always impressed by the creativity and enthusiasm of our young artists, and this year’s House Art Competition was no exception. With the theme ‘Contrasts’, the boys were encouraged to explore differences and opposites, using their imagination to bring their ideas to life.

The exhibition is full of energy and variety. The boys experimented with space, line, shape, tone and colour, as well as light, pattern and texture, creating artwork that feels both playful and thoughtful. From bold colour contrasts to quieter changes in mood, feeling or viewpoint, the theme inspired a wide range of imaginative and individual responses.

“I am delighted to have received such a wonderful range of ideas,” said Mr Studd, Head of Art. “The work reflects the confidence our boys have, not only in sharing their ideas, but also in trying out new materials and techniques.”

Well done to all the boys who took part. We warmly invite you to visit the display in the Erskine May Hall foyer, it is well worth a look. The competition winners will be announced shortly, so please keep an eye out for more details.
