Did you know that the Guild’s Nearly New Shop is run entirely by a dedicated team of parent volunteers? Together, they give countless hours to sort, prepare, and sell high‑quality nearly new school uniform, helping families, reducing waste, and supporting our community in a meaningful way.
But the shop does even more than that.
Every pound raised is donated straight back to the school to fund projects and initiatives that enrich the education of all boys. From specialist equipment to co-curricular enhancements, the shop plays a real part in helping our boys thrive.
Some examples of where their funds have been directed include.
- A hymn book for every boy in the Upper School
- Paying for the Parent Partnership Programme
- Purchase of a large, enclosed gazebo that will be used by many of the school sports teams when travelling to competitions
- A new electronic scoreboard for the Hockey pitches
- Cooking equipment for Duke of Edinburgh Awards
And now, more than ever, they need your help.
The Nearly New Shop is looking for more volunteers to join the team. Whether you can spare an hour a week, help occasionally, or support during busy periods, your time would make a huge difference. No retail experience is needed, just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get stuck in alongside other friendly parents.
Volunteering is a great way to:
- Support the school in a hands-on, meaningful way
- Meet other parents and become part of a welcoming community
- Make a tangible impact on the opportunities available to all boys
If you’d like to get involved or find out more, we’d love to hear from you, so please email us at guildshop@bedfordschool.org.uk.
Your time can help create more opportunities for every boy in our school.
