Junior Golfers Crowned National Champions

Huge congratulations to Oliver (Year 8) and Jack (Year 7) on their brilliant victory at the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) Junior National Finals.

Competing at Radley College in extremely challenging conditions, including torrential rain and a pause in play due to thunder, both boys showed impressive composure and resilience. Their performances were exceptional throughout.

Individually, both players finished in the top five, producing some excellent golf along the way, including a number of well-earned birdies. Oliver secured the runner-up spot, and together their combined scores earned them the national title.

This success follows a superb season. The boys progressed through a strong league, facing Spratton Hall and St Edmund’s College, to secure their place in the final, where they rose to the challenge against some of the country’s top schools.

Reflecting on their preparation, both boys highlighted the role of Bedford’s Golf Performance Centre in helping them develop consistency and confidence.

“I’m a boarder so I get to come in the golf simulator in the mornings a lot – it makes a real difference.”

Oliver

“I get to go [to the golf simulator] at lunchtimes every day and it helps to get my swing feeling consistent.”

Jack

A fantastic achievement and a very proud moment.
