Our U11A hockey team are enjoying a superb season, securing not one but two major titles. Most recently, the boys were crowned U11A East Regional Champions.
After topping their group, the team carried their momentum into the knockout stages, delivering impressive performances in both the semi‑final and final. Every player stepped up with sharp skills, strong teamwork and real determination to claim the championship.
Earlier in the term, the same squad also won the IAPS Regional Qualifier, held here at Bedford School. Playing with composure and confidence, the boys won all their matches. As hosts, they represented the school brilliantly—showing kindness and maturity off the pitch while producing an outstanding display on it, scoring 22 goals across nine matches without conceding once.
Thanks to their performances, the team will compete in the IAPS Finals at Repton School on 20 March.
Reflecting on their performance Mr Mason, Head of Prep Hockey, said:
“We are immensely proud of what the boys achieved at the IAPS qualifier. Not only did they play with brilliant skill and outstanding teamwork, but they also showed exemplary sportsmanship from start to finish.”
Throughout both tournaments, the team’s cohesion shone through. A rock‑solid defence and committed tackling provided the foundation, while excellent passing phases and individual moments of skill created a series of well‑taken goals.
It has been an exceptional season for the U11A team, whose hard work, discipline and team spirit have truly paid off.
