Double chocolate cookies and hot chocolate made for a tasty break-time treat for seven boys who joined the Headmaster this Friday.
These boys, representing every year group, were recipients of a Headmaster’s Commendation for outstanding academic work, incredible kindness, homework that exceeds expectations or excellence in sport, music, or other co-curricular areas.
Ibrahim (Y3) was commended for his beautiful use of similes and metaphors in character descriptions of Rhodopis, an ancient tale. He continually goes above and beyond to challenge himself in English lessons, takes advice on board and flies with it.
Timothy (Y4) received recognition for his excellent approach to all learning with Mrs Valentino and Mrs Clare. He always applies himself and seeks opportunities to exceed the curriculum. He has a great thirst for learning!
Edward and Richard (Y5) took the initiative to litter-pick before school, doing a fantastic job keeping the school tidy.
Josh and Seb (Y6) were recognised for their services to the community. They made and sold popcorn, cupcakes and cookies to raise funds for Bedford Hockey Club and were praised for their efforts and professionalism.
Thomas (Y7) impressed a visiting Chinese guest with a brilliant tour and warm welcome. He ensured his guest knew her way around, showing remarkable initiative throughout the day.
Rafael (Y8) created a thought-provoking t-shirt design for the European Day of Languages competition. His design featured photos of him signing in BSL, with a message advocating for the recognition of sign language and raising awareness for children across Europe who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The boys happily left for lessons, proudly carrying certificates of achievement and earning five merits for their Houses.
