On Friday 20th September, we were delighted to welcome current and former parents and Old Bedfordians to our Harvest Supper—an evening to bring together friends of the School involved in farming, food production, and land management. This much-anticipated event, held for the first time since 2018, offered a wonderful opportunity for members of the farming community to reconnect in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
With eighty guests in attendance, the evening celebrated two key themes: community and friendship. It offered those working in farming and rural industries who have a connection to our school the chance to come together for an evening of fine food and engaging conversation. More than that, it enabled the School and the Bedford School Association to express our gratitude to this community, whose contributions have been integral to Bedford School’s history.
During the evening, Acting Head Master, Sam Baldock, addressed the gathering with a heartfelt welcome and shared some insightful reflections on his personal experiences with the world of agriculture and the surprising parallels between farming and schools, highlighting more similarities than one might expect!
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the event, and look forward to maintaining and strengthening this important relationship for many years to come.
