Last weekend, cadets from Bedford School and Bedford Girls’ School showcased their skills and determination as they competed in the Royal Air Squadron Trophy (RAST) annual regional heats as part of the East CCF RAFAC. The competition, held over two days, tested teams across a range of disciplines, including drill, leadership, cyber space, shooting and first aid.

Throughout the event, the cadets demonstrated outstanding teamwork, discipline and resilience, earning high praise from the assessing staff. Particular recognition was given to FS Scarlet Jenkins, whose exceptional leadership skills stood out as she guided her team with confidence and composure under pressure.
While final scores are yet to be released, the team’s strong performance and the positive feedback received highlight the success of their efforts. Regardless of the final standings, the cadets proved their commitment and excellence in every challenge faced. Well done to all involved!
The CCF is a joint co-curricular activity involving both Bedford School and Bedford Girls’ School. This collaboration provides a fantastic opportunity for pupils from both schools to mix, work together and build lasting friendships.
