On 14 November, the school’s U16 badminton teams achieved the incredible feat of securing both first and second place in the county table tennis championships. This remarkable accomplishment marks a brilliant week for the teams, who put their all into the competition and emerged victorious.
Their success was hot on the heels of our Y7 and Y8 Prep boys who took part in their county competition on 13 November and were also placed first and second. Their achievement highlights the promising talent and dedication of our younger boys, setting a strong foundation for future successes in this sport.
The first stage of the U16 tournament was structured as a round-robin competition, with matches played across two pools. The top teams from each pool then advanced to the semi-finals, setting the stage for an intense showdown. Both of Bedford’s teams demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, winning their respective semi-final matches and earning their places in the final.
In an exciting and closely contested final, Bedford’s teams faced off against each other, showcasing the depth of talent within the school. Ultimately, the A team triumphed, but both teams’ performances were a testament to their hard work and dedication.
With this victory, the A team now progresses to the regional finals, where they will represent our school and compete against the best teams in the region.
