We are pleased to welcome Mark Davies (79-83) to our team of DVPs across the globe!

Mark joined BBC Television after leaving school as a Studio Engineer and quickly moved into Special Effects.  He left the BBC to start a career in Computer Software development and started his own business in broadcasting technology.  He later joined Microsoft in 1993 and led their Consulting Practice before moving to Seattle, USA to lead a global program for Microsoft Consulting.  After several director positions, he became Chief of Staff for Corporate Marketing Research division.  Heading back to his routes, he joined a start-up company focused on Virtual Reality in 2014 as COO and leader of Development Operations.

Outside of work, Mark has kept in close touch with the rowing community and has served on the board of Sammamish Rowing as President, he has coached juniors and masters rowers while finding time in between to row in the competitive masters team.  Mark lives in Sammamish, Washington with his wife, Elizabeth and two college-age sons, Edward (a keen swimmer) and Callum (a varsity level rower).  When not on the water, Mark and his family explore the beautiful Northwest US in a Cessna light aircraft and you may find him in local venues performing traditional American Country Blues in his band.

Please feel free to get in touch with him if you are in the area or travelling through. The contact details of all our volunteer OB contacts, across the UK and around the world, are available online here.
