We are delighted to announce that two Bedford School
boys, Jonathan Hosking and Josh Garrett, have gained places at the prestigious
National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.

14-year-old Jonathan (Removes/Y10) and 16-year-old Josh
(L6) both joined 5,000 hopefuls aged 14-25 from across the UK earlier in the
year to audition for one of the 500 places available.  Both clearly
impressed the selectors during their workshops and with their prepared
monologues.

Antoinette Keylock, Head of Academic Drama, told us,
“This is a fantastic achievement!  It is very difficult to get in to this
distinguished company, let alone first time! We are extremely proud of both
boys and look forward to some very exciting theatre.”

The boys are now invited to attend a fortnight of
workshops in London, covering acting. improvisation, voice and other
disciplines, in August.  Following the workshops, they will be invited to
become part of this world-leading youth arts company, which includes Dame Helen
Mirren, Daniel Craig, Colin Firth, Sir Ben Kingsley, Orlando Bloom, Sir Derek
Jacobi, Hugh Bonneville and Matt Lucas amongst its alumni.
