The U17 cricket team had a big win against Bromsgrove on Thursday 15 June in the National Cup, smoothing their path to the National semi-finals.

Bromsgrove’s Under 17s batted first in Thursday’s T20 on a used wicket. They struggled their way to 111/6. Our boys bowled tightly throughout the 20 overs. Two wickets for Sheemar and George were key in stunting the opposition’s scoring rate.

The Bedford team know it’s not easy to chase on a used pitch, so the boys dug in to chase the total, losing only 4 wickets. Rahul Sheemar’s 40 showed real maturity, along with Tom Blythman’s 24. Ali Hassan contributed a breezy 22. All boys pulled together to achieve the 6-wicket win.

En route to the semis, Bedford have beaten Norwich School by 13 runs and Bedford Modern School by 9 wickets. The U17 team is now set to meet Shrewsbury in the up-and-coming National semi-final. Good luck boys!
