The England cricket team’s performance analyst, Nathan Leamon, will be visiting the school on Wednesday 7 November to give a talk. Nathan, who will just have returned from a tour to Sri Lanka, recently published a brilliant novel centred on cricket. The Test is that rare thing, a well-written, enthralling and thought-provoking novel about sport. He will be speaking about writing and sport from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in the Langham Pavilion. All boys, parents, guardians and Old Bedfordians are warmly encouraged to attend and refreshments will be provided. Copies of Nathan’s book, which he is happy to sign, will be available to purchase; as well as providing a rare glimpse of what happens behind the scenes at the highest level of competition, it seems destined to become recognised as one of the great literary explorations of the psychology of sport.
