Three Bedford School teachers, Mr Charlie Palmer, Mr Will Peters and Mrs Caroline Medley, are preparing to run capital’s streets in the 36th Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 24 April 2016.

Mr Palmer once again qualified for the elite race and hopes that by starting alongside some of the world's best marathon runners he will complete the race in under 2 hours and 35 minutes.

In his first marathon, Mr Peters is aiming to finish around the four hour mark, and is raising money for WWF and The Ben Williams Trust – a charity which provides support to children with abnormal heart rhythms and their families. To sponsor Mr Peters please visit www.justgiving.com/Rev-and-Will/

Taking on her fourth London marathon, Mrs Medley is running in aid of Cancer Research UK; a charity close to her heart.  She told us, “At about this time last year, I was due to celebrate being in remission from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma by taking part in the 2015 London Marathon. Unfortunately, the scan showed three unexplained changes and a PET scan showed that the 2005 breast cancer had returned and spread to my liver, lungs and bones; I was able to postpone my marathon place for a year. I am fortunate to be under the care of Professor Thomas and the medication and three monthly injections seem to be working. Exercise is key to my treatment and following a training schedule helps to keep my mind off the cancer diagnosis.”  Impressively, to date, she has raised over £100 per mile for Cancer Research UK.  If you would like to support Mrs Medley and Cancer Research UK please visit www.justgiving.com/Caroline-MedleyLondonMarathon2015.
