25Lucy Hopkins: Powerful Women Are About

A vibrational revolution of being, channelled by a goddess.

Part electro-ritual, part Theremin-experiment, part light-fantastic. Ultra-conscious comedy by award-winning, internationally-touring, terribly present clown. Come as you are. Leave transformed. Lucy is also known as Aunty Val in Spencer Jones’s Christmas short (Sky TV) and Charlie Chuck’s assistant Mary. Her solo show Le Foulard (The Veil) toured the UK (Soho Theatre), Europe and Australia (Blue Room Theatre, MICF, Adelaide Fringe, Brisbane Powerhouse), winning Best Theatre Performer Adelaide Fringe 2013Prague Fringe Creative Award 2012 and Bedfringe Pick of the Fest 2012.

Followed by after show: Bob Slayer: Whatever Next?

Last Fringe, I read the Chilcot Report, inspiring a political re-awakening at a time when I’d much rather be asleep… What started as a gag ended up an award-winning political happening.

What next? A big revelatory ending where we all see the light? That will be as beautiful a surprise to me as anyone. But I’ll not stop trying. Tenth consecutive Edinburgh Fringe.

Winner: Edinburgh Comedy Award (Spirit of the Fringe), Malcolm Hardee Award, Zeitgeist Award, Barry Award.
