Bedford School won the toss and elected to bat first. Michael Catt and Tom O’Toole got the team off to an excellent start with an opening stand of 47. Next in was Michael Wells who took no time at all to get settled in at the crease. Wells and O’Toole put on a superb partnership of 125 runs, helping the team reach 218-3 off 30 overs.

This was always going to be a tough target for Warwick School to chase, especially when Miller (3-12) and Whitcombe (1-19) both bowled superbly to have 27-4 after 10 overs. All of the subsequent bowlers continued to bowl a very good line and length to ensure there was no way back for Warwick School. The Warwick innings was finished off with a brief, highly effective spell from Cameron Melly who took 3 wickets for just 12 runs in 3 overs.

There were several excellent individual performances in this match, but without doubt the highlight was the fielding by Bedford School. All catches were taken in this game, including brilliant catches from Catt, Wells and Chambers, and also a direct hit run out by Catt from just under 30 metres away.

All in all, this was a complete performance by the boys and one they should be very proud of – well done boys! A high standard set for the season!
