Congratulations to Lewis Schael in Remove Form, who has been selected to play for the German U16 Rugby squad in their upcoming match against Poland over the Easter holidays.

Lewis, who currently plays with Northampton Saints U15 squad, spent some time on a training camp with the German team and their coaches in February. Shortly afterwards he received an invitation to play position No. 8 on the team. This is wonderful news for Lewis, who chose to play with the German team as he enjoys their composed, calm and collected approach to rugby. Lewis’ father is German and many of his family members currently live there. Lewis comes from a sporting family, with football being the dominating sport and so Lewis is excited to introduce rugby into the family fold!

Lewis’ other passion lies in rowing and he is pretty good at that too by all accounts! Despite being only 15 years of age, Lewis trains with the 1st VIII rowing team and his long-term aim is to attend university in the US on a rowing scholarship.

Lewis flies out to Frankfurt next week and we wish him the best of luck.
