Fourth Form pupil and double bass player James Watson, has been selected to join one of the country’s most prestigious groups of young musicians, the National Children’s Orchestra.

James started playing the double bass when he was just seven years old and has showed exceptional talent since the start. James went through a rigorous application process, which involved performing two pieces of his own choice, some prepared sight reading and performing a sight reading piece.

James also plays the organ and piano, and sings in the national Youth Boys’ Choir.

This is an incredible achievement for James – especially at such a young age, and we look forward to hearing more about his musical journey.
