Congratulations to Alex Lamb (Y6) on his brilliant trio of badminton medals over the half term break.
Alex won a superb gold in his first competition: the Boys U13 England Tournament at Winchester. He then hot-footed it to Helsinki to complete in the 2017 Finnish Youth International Badminton Tournament where he achieved silver in both the singles and doubles competitions.
In singles quarter-finals, in a great show of calmness under pressure, Alex found himself 14: 20 down but kept his focus to ensure he won every point to take the first set 23: 21, and then 21:4 in the second to rightfully secure his place in the semi-final.
In the doubles, Alex demonstrated great team spirit; encouraging his partner all the way despite some stiff competition and some hard-fought matches.
It is wonderful to see such great sportsmanship and dedication bringing about such great results – very well done Alex!
