It was
one of the musical highlights of the year on Thursday night when over 1,000
people gathered in the Great Hall for the annual House Singing Competition.

As is
the custom each one of the six houses performed a medley of unison songs
followed by a part song. There was a particularly high standard in all areas
but in the end Crescent won the Unison Song category with their renditions of
‘Human’ and ‘All these things that I’ve done’ by The Killers, and ‘Mad World’
by Gary Jules.

The Part
Song cup was won by Paulo Pontine with a particularly impressive performance of
Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Holding out for a Hero’. Paulo also came out as overall winners
on the night having come second in the unison category.
