For the Chapel Choir, Monday 5
December started with a dawn coach journey past spectacular frosty fields to
Ely Cathedral, where they were to sing at a memorial service for OB and former
school governor James Crowden CVO KSTJ (41-46).

The Chapel Choir were joined by
the choir of Pembroke College, Cambridge; James Crowden’s alma mater, for the
packed service, which began with a huge procession in tribute to the great
man.

The Chapel Choir sang the school
hymn and Handel’s coronation anthem Zadok the Priest. It was a moving
and memorable service in which to have taken part.
