Bikeability – ‘cycling proficiency’ for the 21st Century! If you’re thinking about getting on your bike, why not complete your Bikeability? It’s supported by The Department for Transport, is fun and gives you the skills and confidence to cycle in modern road conditions.

There are three Bikeability levels, with each level designed to help improve cycling skills. Levels 1, 2 and 3 take participants on a journey from the basics of balance and control, all the way through to planning and making a journey by themselves on busier roads.

Children will typically start Bikeability lessons once they have learnt to ride a bike. Level 1 will help new riders to control and master their bike and is suitable for years 5, 6 & 7. Level 2 enables children to develop on-road cycling skills before they leave primary school. Level 3 teaches participants how to ride in different and more challenging traffic situations.
