The much anticipated HMC T20 match against Rugby School took place on Friday 9 June. Bedford 1st XI batted first on a used wicket. Working well as a team, they made 145/5 for their 20 overs. Ali Hassan added 42 off 37 balls and captain Shaylen Tomlinson-Patel made 40 off just 28 balls. Other good contributions with the bat came from Rahul Sheemar scoring 27 and Gus Miller with a lovely cameo of 17 off 10 balls.

Rugby School put up a good fight and scored 137/8, falling 9 short of the target. Bedford kept it very tight from the start with superb bowling performances from William Comfort, Alex Rennie and Elliot Wingfield – Elliot taking 3 important wickets.
