A number of our Prep boys have been working with leading
cartoonist Ryan Beaird ‘Beairdo’ on ‘Gross Empires’, a brand new action-comedy
IP aimed towards boys aged 7-11 years old.

Gross Empires started out as a few pencil sketches in 2013
and is now on its way to becoming the grossest kids cartoon ever made!

Finding a casting agent was a real challenge for Beairdo but when he got in touch with Jonathan Hooley, Head of Prep School Drama, about working with pupils from the school, he found what he was looking for! After an initial meeting about the content of the cartoons, Jonathan suggested a number of pupils who would be suitable.

Jonathan acted as the imaginators.tv Voice-Over Director,
supervising the boys on the day of rehearsal/recording and arranging the use of
our school theatre and music studio to record the Gross Empires promo and pilot
episode. Thom Rooke acted as sound engineer and used his expertise to create the right tone for the piece.

We are very proud of our boys (Sarmukh Hundal, Rowan
Bashetta-Pollitt, William Hayward and Dominic Russell-Smith) who are all
playing the lead characters in Gross Empires. Beairdo credited them as a team
of superb vocal actors. A further ten boys have also been confirmed as playing
the smaller parts. The boys have so far loved learning how to do VO for a new
cartoon and there has also been great educational value.

The property will be a 26×22 comedy action adventure 2D series and with ten scripts already written for the show, boys are in animatic
production phase. We are very much looking forward to the launch of Gross
Empires ‘Mini’s’ in early 2017. Watch this space!
